About me :
I am 48 years old and work as an X-RAY engineer.I have always "dabbled" with electronics for as long as I can remember. I am hoping to join the club soon and get my foundation license. I am very much a beginner when it comes to radio and RF theory. I was looking into doing the "old style" exam many years ago but family etc came along and it got put on a very long hold until now.

G4APJ
Name :
Ken Punshon
About me :
First licensed about 1965 as G8APJ, running 0.5W AM on 70cm. Went to UCNW Bangor (GW3UCB contest group), spent a couple of years operating from the North Yorks Moors with a Liner 2 to most of Europe, and moved to Bury in 1976. Had about 20 years with virtually no amateur radio, reactivated about 1998 on 6,2, and 70 (although I do have QRP HF that is never used for TX). Member of the A1 CG (G4ZAP), and amateur radio interests are contest (surprise), and DX chasing (MS, A) with 'QRP' (25W now being considered QRP).
Plenty of other interests, most noticeably folk music, including writing and performing songs.

M6MRD
Name :
Paul Sephton
About me :
Hello,
Name is Paul. I got my Foundation license in March 2010 following a short course at the Southport and District Amateur Radio Club. I was first interested in radio many years ago and was active on C.B. However I got a bit disenchanted with all the idiots who seemed to take over and being a young impatient man, felt that life was too short to learn morse so I left the hobby. Bought a scanner about 12 months ago and found the hams were the most interesting thing on the radio. Eventually plucked up the courage to take the first step, so here i am, M6MRD. I operate a Yaesu FT587D through a Diamond X30 for vhf, uhf and a half size G5RV for hf. Also have a Kenwood THF7E ht.
Regards,
Paul
