The Bolton Wireless Club was formed in the 1980s, and held the callsigns G1ONE and G0BWC. It met in what was then the Beaumont Hotel which is the present-day Britannia Hotel, where the Club meets once again.

The Club was re-born in 2007, and the Club Licences have been re-issued (the GX prefix denotes a Club Station operating in England, but you may hear our members operating as G0BWC/A and G1ONE/A too).

Note that we are not the same club as the Bolton and District Amateur Radio Society (G8WY) which was founded in the 1920s, and most recently met in Horwich in the 1980s.
